He earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors for his strong play at linebacker after starting the year at running back...rushing 17 times for 50 yards and one touchdown through the first three games of the year then had an immediate impact after switching to defense and recorded nine tackles against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Nov. 1)…then followed that with an 11 tackle performance against Occidental (Nov. 8)…finishing the season with 26 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in just three games at linebacker. |

In 2015 he earned Second Team All-SCIAC for the second straight season…started all nine games at linebacker for the Kingsmen…ranked second on the team with 62 total tackles…led the way with 42 unassisted tackles…averaging 6.9 tackles per game…added 1.5 sacks for loss of 10 yards…had five tackles for loss of 16 yards…had a season-high 11 tackles against Willamette on Sept. 19…and added two pass breakups.

Earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors after leading the team in receiving with 49 catches for 815 yards and 11 touchdowns…started all nine games at wide receiver…ranked second in the SCIAC in receptions, yards and touchdowns…averaged 90.6 yards per game and 16.6 yards per catch…set a single-game career-high with 170 receiving yards on Sept. 20 against Willamette…eclipsed the century mark in receiving yards five times…had a season-high eight receptions for 111 yards in a 41-17 victory over Pomona-Pitzer (Oct. 18)…hauled in three touchdowns in back-to-back weeks; first coming against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Nov. 1) where he also added seven receptions and 122 yards and the next week against Occidental (Nov. 8) where he had five receptions and 117 yards…his 11 touchdowns ranked him second all-time in CLU single-season history. |

The YEAR OF THE RECEIVER Award |

Given to Eric Roger, Class of 2012, who broke every football receiving award at Cal Lutheran going back 50 years. The award was designed and put together by Donald DeMars, Class of 1964. Eric’s record was truly amazing: Receiving Yards 3461 · Receiving TDs 41 · Receptions 220 · Mike Sheppard, a Cal Lutheran player and NFL Wide Receiver Coach, made the award presentation. Eric’s mother was presented with a high resolution photo of her son, Eric, provided by Bob Trevathan, and Ben McEnroe, Head Football Coach at Cal Lutheran underlined what a fine young man and athlete and credit to Cal Lutheran Eric was. Everyone appreciated this special award for Eric. |
