 Cary Washburn passed away on January 2, 2023. Cary had played football for Oceanside-Carlsbad JC before transferring to CLC in the Fall of 1965, where he became a starting member of the Kingsmen offensive line. The team led the nation that season in offense. He graduated and then was on the Kingsmen coaching staff for the ‘67 season while he earned his teaching certification.
He was drafted into the Army and served honorably as a helicopter Crew Chief in Vietnam. He returned to the Conejo Valley and taught at Redwood Intermediate school , then later became the Asst. Principal at Sequoyah Intermediate school in Newbury Park.
He is survived by his wife Sandy (Evenson) of Newbury Park. |
