It is with heavy heart that I’m (Gerald Halweg, Don’s CLC roommate) remembering Mr. Donald A. DeMars CLC ‘64 (Born January 6, 1941) was called by our Lord to join those in Heaven Saturday July 15, 2017 at about 2 PM.

The “Verse of the Day” for July 15, 2017 that popped up on my I-phone was from Proverbs 18:10… “GOD’s name is a place of protection-good people can run there and be safe.” Don was taken into St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, California Friday July 14, 2017. Don had a real tough time with his respiratory system for a long time. Don was one of our California Lutheran College’s Pioneers joining the ranks of the first 400 Club members to enroll at our new college as a student. Don and Carol celebrated fifty years of marriage July 8, 2017. CLC/CLU was Don’s first love that he cherished, growing deeper each year and lasted to the end. He served on many activities, clubs, organizations and events that recognized the value of great Christian education that was provided by his Alma Mater. Even with his difficulty in getting around without his constant oxygen supply, he continued to work at his desk for the 5th Quarter Football Club. Don’s success as a professional in the Architectural World made him a leader in his field developing plans and designs for some of the largest, most prestigious Sports Clubs. Don will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Carol and their daughters (Genevieve & Fabienne) and all those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
